    The video should promote student awareness and responsibility in promoting the Crime Stoppers Program as an effective tool in the fight against crime in the school community.

    Some possible topics to address: violence, gangs, graffiti, drugs, bullying, cybercrime, harassment.

    Criteria

    Maximum 5 minutes
    Include the Lanark County Crime Stoppers title and logo. Include the Tipline 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)phone number and website www.lccs.ca
    Stress that all tipsters remain anonymous.
    Crime Stoppers internet photos can be used.
    Provide a positive message.
    All persons producing a video or in a video must sign student video talent release form to be eligible to enter this contest. Make sure your music is not copyrighted. For possible music/sound effect tracks we suggest any of the websites below or any others that you are familiar with.

    In any case, please provide confirmation with your submission that all audio material is in the public domain and that we have unrestricted rights to use it in the video.

    Reminder

    • Have Fun and be Creative!
    • Only non-copyrighted music.
    • All entries require appropriate student video talent release forms.
    • Entries must be 2-5 minutes in length.
    • Videos are to be submitted between December 1, 2015 and January 15, 2016.
    • The contest is open to all current students. Students younger than 18 will need a release signed by a parent or guardian.

    Guidelines

    Video submission deadline is November 15, 2016, and must include the video file (in .avi, .mov, or .wmv format) copied onto a USB drive or DVD disk. Signed release forms must be submitted for the producer and each person that appears in the video. Release forms are available below:

    Mail your video and releases to Lanark County Crime Stoppers 11 Knox Street Carleton Place, Ontario K7C 4G9.

    Sound and graphics will be considered in the judging process.

    The winners will be contacted no later than December 31, 2016.

    Lanark County Crime Stoppers reserves the right to post all video submissions on their website and social media or other forms of promotional opportunities.

    Winners names and pictures will be published on www.lccs.ca and will be used in the media promotion of the video.
